Sunsets are a feature
of our life here, the wide horizon coupled with an excess of weather means
that at times there are such beautiful sunsets it makes you gasp. The
above panorama was taken in the harbour – Bowmore Distillery is on the
left and the jetty is on the right.
This sunset happened on the evening of 4th May and I left a good chat
with Anne to get these pictures, I hope she will forgive me, these pictures
are dedicated to her.
The rocks turn pink with the setting sun and the water picks up pastel
shades. |

the village from the north |
It was nice to see the people come out of their houses,
pubs and restaurants to look at this, one couple came out of the Mariners
Hotel as I passed by also carrying a camera to capture the scene, later,
in the harbour, a young French couple came out of the Harbour Inn to walk
hand in hand down the pier.
In the last few minutes of my walk I stopped at the house of friends
to use their garden to catch the last glow of the sky, and then I joined
them for a couple of glasses of wine. (I must admit to having edited a
couple of telephone cables out of the final image).
