This church is currently derelict and dangerous
to enter, but the graveyard houses the superb cross and many carved gravestones.

The cross was carved about 1500 AD and stands just over 2.5 m high. The inscription reads: “This is the cross by Thomas, son of Patrick, doctor, for the souls of his father, mother and wife, and of all the faithful departed, and of the said”. In the base are cups and a stone, which should be turned sunwise (east to west) when wishing. Many people leave a coin or personal item in the cups. |
